Written by PeopleBrowsr | Jun 11, 2015 7:23:00 AM

10 June 2015 - The Sydney .CEO Network is born...

Over 100 of Sydney’s most influential CEOs shared wisdom, ate, drank and asked Qs of our Guru speaker Daniel Petre AO, Investor and Philantropist AirTree Ventures.

Takeaways:

  • We are moving to the Singularity - Computers will soon do our jobs - from menial to complex, even replace doctors!

  • Our language is slow, prone to misunderstanding and holds us back

  • When analyzing businsesses - Data is king

  • As leaders of companies we need to see the world the way it is, not the way we wish it to be

  • Progress in technology isn't linear, it's exponential

  • CEOs need to be paranoid to keep their company relevant

  • Daniel recommends:

    • Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind - Book by Yuval Harari

    • Only the Paranoid Survive: How to Identify and Exploit the Crisis Points that Challenge Every Business - Book by Andrew Grove

    • Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies - Book by Nick Bostrom

Guest speakers Daniel Petre AO and Jodee Rich.

Jodee Rich, .CEO Network and PeopleBrowsr CEO spoke about:

  • Humans are selfish and generous - We need collaborative tools to amplify our generosity and move to the next level

  • Many of us have the power and money to make a difference

  • The Internet is at the early stages of the J curve - The Mantra for the next phase is Identity, Community, and Network

  • Consumers now understand social actions (RTs, Likes ,Connecting) and can search

  • General purpose networks are like AOL in yr 2000, and will be supplimented by Vertical Networks that match our multiple Personas

  • Marketers who send Fans to Facebook and other networks then have to pay to communicate to them. They are better off sending their fans to their own Vertical Networks

And with New York based Jeffery Hayzlett in the background.
